We are looking for volunteers with bikes and trailers to use human power to move band equipment throughout the day during Alabama EarthFest 2006's Earth Day in Homewood Park!
We hope that this will be a “leave your car at home day.” Please consider biking, walking or taking public transport to this event!

April 22 [Saturday]
11:30am–9:00pm Earth Day in the Park with Music and Performance by The Stop, Earthbound, Sharrif Simmons, Looney Mill, The Groovelings, Chad Fisher Group, and a Community Drumming, Kid’s Village, Healing Arts Village, Lonnie Holley, Ron Bourdages, keeping the vibe alive for people of all ages, Community Garden Goods. Celebrating the Earth through community connections.
Alabama EarthFest leader, Elizabeth Elgin, has had an accident that has rendered her physically incapable of doing many of things that she would normally do. She has done a tremendous amount for the community and it is now time for the community to come together and help make Earth Day in Homewood Park a tremendous success and also to relieve her of some of the pressure that comes with organizing an event! Alabama EarthFest is looking for volunteers who would like to celebrate Earth Day with us and make this an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Earth Day is April 22. This year Earth Day will be celebrated in Homewood Park. The event starts at 11:40am, and set up complete by 11:30am.
Volunteering Opportunities:
Stage and Band Assistance:
10am: assist with carrying band equipment
Table and Chair set up:
10am, 4 people
Assist with stage set change throughout the day, approximately every hour.
Beginning at 1:30p-5:00, approximately 3 people
5:00-9:30p, approximately 4 people.
Assist with Tent set up:
Beginning at 8:00am, approximately 4 people. This may take 3 hours.
Assist at the information booth and sell t-shirts.
